Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Hours: PT position 16 to 20 hours per week. To cover 4 days per week over the core work hours of 10.00a.m. to 4.00p.m.
Location: Head Office based Leek , Staffordshire
Reporting to: Financial Controller
Pay: Based on experience

Job Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Financial Controller to produce monthly management accounts, mainly by operating and maintaining the sales and purchase ledger.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • To assist the Financial Controller with credit control and monthly statements
  • Inputting supplier invoices and payments onto Sage.
  • Processing payments to suppliers
  • Weekly processing of customer invoices
  • Reconciliation of credit cards, paypal, petty cash & expenses
  • Manage and operate HMRC submissions such as EC Sales & Intrastats
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Dealing with customer and supplier queries over the phone and via email
  • Provide support to the Financial Controller with any other ad hoc duties as required
  • Provide cover for the Financial Controller in their absence
  • Any ad hoc duties as appropriate


Qualified or working towards AAT.
At least 12 months experience of working at a similar level.
Proficient user of commonly used software, SAGE 50, Excel, Word.
